Alfred, MMP Donate Guitar Wheels to GAMA Teaching Guitar Workshops

Colorado Springs Teaching Guitar Workshop 2012 GAMA
Los Angeles, CA—Alfred Music Publishing, the world’s largest educational print publisher since 1922, and Music Master Publishing, creators of the Guitar Wheel music theory educational tool, donated 280 Guitar Wheels to teachers being trained at GAMA to support the 2012 Teaching Guitar Workshops across the USA and Canada. The Guitar Wheel is a two-sided hands-on educational music theory tool trusted by teachers worldwide and incorporated into guitar and piano instruction.

Glen McCarthy, teacher at the Colorado Springs workshop said, “The Guitar Wheel is an excellent product that helps guitar students understand music theory. It is a great addition for the teachers that attend our workshops." Music Master Publishing looks forward to more ways to support GAMA in the future.

Through the Teaching Guitar Workshops, GAMA helps educators to start or enhance their guitar music programs. GAMA workshops “help bring guitar instruction to hundreds of thousands of children,” says Rob Sulkow, director of GAMA.

Alfred also donated a wide variety of educational material to the workshops from the Jerry Snyder’s Guitar School series and from the 21st Century Guitar Ensemble methods and supplements collection, along with Alfred’s most recent release, Sound Innovations for Guitar, Book 1.

The Guitar Wheel is available for $14.99 at music retailers and at alfred.com.

Jason Becker: Cover of Guitar Player Magazine

We're very excited that a friend and Guitar Wheel endorser Jason Becker is featured on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine in the current July 2012 issue. If you have not read the cover story, you should, even if you don't have any interest in guitar, his life and work are very inspirational. We had the honor to visit with Jason Becker and family in July of 2008 and write a blog about it which you can read here.

Congratulations, Jason, on making the cover of GP. You continue to amaze us, inspire us and make us laugh.

Guitar Education and Guitar Wheels Front Page News

You will be pleased to know that guitar education in the public school system and the Guitar Wheel were featured on front page news! Maywood Middle School of Corning, California, was so excited about the Guitar Wheels donated to their band class that the local newspaper featured the event in a front page story of the Corning Observer newspaper. We're very happy the article highlights the incredible job band teacher Dan Kinkle is doing in schools and the support his school district gives for music education.

This publicity was a direct result from a Facebook promotion Music Master Publishing ran in December 2011, in which we donated 300 Guitar Wheels to benefit and raise awareness for under privileged and deserving music education programs. Guitar and band teachers across the country are using Guitar Wheels as an educational aid to help students learn music theory.
